Each child will receive a pellet to dissect. The Barn Owl is the only bird of prey that swallows its prey whole and then regurgitates the entire skeletal remain. It digests the flesh and then casts the fur and bones of the animal it ate. Each pellet will contain at least one entire skeletal remain of likely a vole or mole but likely more than one.
A youth birding walk in the Giacomini Wetlands with naturalist Juan-Carlos Solis
Craft & Quail and Joan Gray (bird pin) vendors
